The author is not original in suggesting this, as for a long time, Juvenile onset diabetes (type 1) has been linked to coxsackie viral infections but he presents a different mechanism of how viruses may cause these diseases. There are many different things that can cause obesity, it can be due to a virus or diabetes, or childbirth or something completely different.
What is important is that we understand why we ourselves have become obese. Because once we now where the thing is broken we can begin fixing it.
