Healthy weight loss doesn’t need to lure you in with “get thin quick” promotions, crashes diets or even by being named in honor of glorious beach communities in California or Florida. Healthy weight loss begins with lifestyle changes, introduced gradually.

In fact, you may have a more difficult time getting rid of those folds around your mid-section. See, the body doesn’t take too kindly to rapid changes in diet and exercise, and it just might stubbornly shut down on shedding those pudgy pounds. Gradually exercising more, a daily all-natural weight loss supplement, reducing calories and documenting your progress along the way are all great ways to get on the road to healthy weight loss.

Healthy Weight Loss: Incorporating Exercise Gradually

A short walk around the local pond can work wonders for losing weight the healthy way, especially if the most exercise you usually get is walking from the sofa into the kitchen for a pint of ice cream.

For someone who has never taken a regular jog, or hasn’t done a jumping jack since elementary school, introducing even a small amount of regular exercise (even while taking in the same amount of calories) will result in a few dumped pounds.

Since healthy weight loss is your goal any new exercise regime will need to be practiced regularly. Tummy crunches once every two weeks aren’t likely to do the trick. Since regular exercise needs to be as much a part of your life as having that croissant along with your breakfast glass of orange juice, you should choose an exercise that you’ll actually enjoy doing.

Sweaty gyms, with their expensive memberships and smelly towels, aren’t for everyone. But the good news is, there are all kinds of ways to enjoy a “Celebrity Fit Club” style workout without being rich and famous. There’s jogging, working out with exercise videos and yoga. Or you can kick your healthy weight loss hopes into high gear with a few added props.

The Elliptical Trainer

Invest in a few pieces of trusty elliptical fitness equipment and you’ll never have to go to the gym again. Researchers and surgeons have been singing praises in acclaim over elliptical trainers since their induction in the mid-1990′s.

Back then, elliptical fitness equipment was only available in the most high-priced sport and health clubs. Today, get that same signature durability year-round in the comfort of your own living room, basement or den for just a fraction of the cost of one of those hotty-totty sports club memberships.

What Is An Elliptical Trainer?

An elliptical trainer is a piece of exercising equipment that sits still allowing you to work up some cardiovascular activity while walking and jogging.

Now the elliptical trainer does have some traits in common with treadmills, both provide a great opportunity to burn off calories, both provide equal oxygen consumption and both elliptical fitness equipment and treadmills take an interest in the heart and muscles.

Researchers have been consistently fascinated by the former ritzy health club fixture, and have studied different brands of elliptical fitness equipment. The conclusions showed that the quiet trainers don’t put a lot of pressure on the joints. You’re certainly familiar with those aches and pains that accompany a trip home from the health club. Elliptical fitness equipment is different in that regard because with a trainer, your foot and pedal never separate, meaning the elliptical trainer is low impact.

Some elliptical fitness equipment strengthens the upper and lower body, while others only offer lower body exercise.

Treadmills

If you’re a traditional exerciser, you might just get a lot of benefit out of an old-fashioned treadmill. Just spending 10 minutes between commercial breaks on your new treadmill offers you the opportunity to climb mountains or run down hills or wherever else your mind likes to wonder. You don’t have to be a runner to enjoy the experience of having a treadmill, they are many available catering specifically to brisk walkers.

Heart Rate Monitors

There are three different zones to exercise in. The heart smart zone, the endurance zone and the athletic zone. Wearing a heart rate monitor can help you monitor your exercise to be sure you are exercising in the zone that will get you to the goal you are pursuing.

Healthy Weight Loss: Reducing Calories

And if you really want to see those pounds disappear two and three pounds per week try slowly cutting your daily calorie intake., Replacing fatty starches with whole grain breads and trading in concentrated fruit drinks for fresh water, will go a long way in reducing those calories. Sticking to whole foods, non processed foods, foods that have not been altered from their original state will begin to clear up skin that has been affected by cellulite.

Healthy Weight Loss: Journaling

As you introduce new foods, exercise regimes, all-natural weight loss supplements and cut calories and carbs, chronicle your experiences. Be sure to make note of how much weight you losing each week in your weight loss journal. That way, you can clearly see what works for your body, and what doesn’t.
